AMERICAN DARK. (2022)
This work is based around from a historical image used for this project in the form and technique of "appropriation". The original image was called "American Gothic" from painter Grant Wood from the modernism period in 1930. The original work depicted an art genre called "social realism" capturing farm workers, working class people during the hard times of being disillusioned during the great depression years. In my latest recreation from the original I put a twist in the image and created a more neo post modern, contemporary setting and atmosphere, updating the image on how the world’s been affected lately during present time
